Texas’ Scott and White Hospital to Cut Up to 200 Positions

Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, is planning on eliminating 100-200 positions in the near future, according to a KCENTV report.

The affected positions are non-clinical, including administrative positions. The announced layoffs are in response to changing reimbursements and dire financials, according to the report, since the hospital’s expenses exceed “the amount of money coming into the hospital.” In addition to the layoffs, the hospital will be cutting ties with outside consultants and purchased services.
