Gregory Burfitt Named New CEO for Allegheny General, West Penn Hospitals in Pittsburgh

Gregory Burfitt has been named president and CEO of Allegheny General Hospital and Western Pennsylvania Hospital, which are being merged into one organization, according to a release from West Penn Allegheny Health System.

Mr. Burfitt has been a healthcare consultant at BDC Advisors in Miami, and before that he was CEO of Centura Health, the largest integrated healthcare delivery system in Colorado.

Allegheny General and West Penn, the flagships of the West Penn Allegheny Health System, were corporately merged in 2008 and their clinical integration is ongoing.
