The hospital’s impending closure is “due to changes in the Lafayette healthcare market,” according to St. Vincent Health’s website.
The hospital will close completely in the next two months, after all the current patients have been discharged, according to an Indianapolis Business Journal report. This move will affect up to 83 employees.
“It is unfortunate that we will be closing our Lafayette facility, but we remain committed to serving long-term acute-care patients and families at our Indianapolis location,” Peter Alexander, administrator of St. Vincent Seton Specialty, told the IBJ.
Employees affected by the closure are receiving priority consideration for open positions within the St. Vincent Health system, and those who do not find positions will be given severance and placement help, according to the report.
