Here are three things to know about the name change.

1. The new name represents a companywide branding strategy St. Mary’s parent hospital — St. Louis-based SSM Health — is implementing to reinforce connection between all SSM Health facilities and the system’s mission.

2. St. Mary’s will rename all its facilities, using SSM Health as a prefix for each facility’s local name. The name changes do not indicate patient care or ownership changes, according to the report.

3. Signs with SSM Health in blue letters now mark the facility’s entrances. Its website reflects the change as well.
