The 242,000-square-foot facility includes an expanded emergency department, a joint replacement and spine unit, five new surgical suites, a large therapy gym for orthopedic patients, a multimedia conference area and an imaging center. The Birthplace, a planned center for labor and delivery, will move into the tower this summer and will feature flat-screen televisions and an entertainment system, among other amenities.
