Under the pact, CHA has pledged to facilitate meetings between the union and CEOs of hospitals and health systems employing 100,000 non-union workers. In exchange, the SEIU agreed to abstain from filing petition signatures with county election officials and the secretary of state’s office, according to a Los Angeles Tribune report.
The organizations have titled their agreement the Partnership for a Healthy California. The SEIU and CHA also agreed to form a labor-management task force to identify strategies to lower healthcare costs, improve quality and expand access, according to the report.
