Rhode Island currently faces a budget shortfall of nearly $302 million, and the proposed spending plan, which will go under a vote by the full House this Friday, includes a wide array of spending cuts. According to the news report, the plan outlined cuts in state spending totaling $150 million. Of that, hospitals, nursing homes and other care providers would face approximately $45 million in payment cuts.
