Redlands Community Hospital CEO named California Hospital Association board chairman: 4 things to know

James Holmes, president and CEO of Redlands (Calif.) Community Hospital, has been elected 2016 chair of the California Hospital Association Board of Trustees.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Holmes.

1. He joined Redlands Community Hospital in 1988 as senior vice president and CFO. In 1995, he was selected to lead the facility.

2. He is a past board chairman of the Hospital Association of Southern California and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association Special Task Force on Healthcare Policy Development.

3. Mr. Holmes also was president of the California Hospital Political Action Committee, a former member of the HASC Joint Committee on Finance and a former member of the Blue Cross Hospital Advisory Committee.

4. Aside from Mr. Holmes, other officers elected to the CHA Board of Trustees for 2016 are:

  • Chairwoman-elect Ann Madden Rice, CEO of the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento
  • Secretary-Treasurer Richard Afable, MD, president and CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health and executive vice president of St. Joseph Health in Southern California
  • Past Chairman Greg Adams, group president for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland
