Providence is a 52-hospital system headquartered in Renton, Wash.

Here are 10 things to know about the health system.

1. Providence has more than 120,000 employees including 36,000 nurses and 25,000 physicians.

2. The network of 52 hospitals and more than 1,000 clinics covers.

3. Providence has 1.9 million covered lives and supports 28.1 million total patient visits.

4. In the first nine months of 2022, Providence’s operating revenues were $19.6 billion, up from $18.8 billion in the same period last year.

5. Providence reported an operating loss of $1.1 billion during those first nine months.

6. Providence's estimated community benefit is $1.9 billion.

7. Physicians and researchers affiliated with Providence have published more than 1,700 research studies.

8. Providence Ventures, the health system's venture capital arm, has 19 companies in its portfolio, including Xealth, Wildflower and DexCare.

9. In 2020, Providence announced a $50 million investment in health equity over five years to apply data-driven strategies for better care.

10. Providence is affiliated with five other systems: Covenant Health in West Texas and New Mexico, Facey Medical Group in Los Angeles, Kadlec in Southeast Washington, Pacific Medical Centers in Seattle., and Swedish Health Services in Seattle.
