President Trump: Republicans will protect those with pre-existing conditions, Democrats won’t

President Donald Trump has been campaigning hard for Republican lawmakers ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, arguing they will work harder to maintain protections for patients with pre-existing conditions.

“Republicans will totally protect people with pre-existing conditions, Democrats will not! Vote Republican,” President Trump tweeted.

CMS recently loosened regulations on state waivers, which allow states to offer coverage options such as short-term insurance plans. These plans are not subject to all ACA regulations and are allowed to reject people with pre-existing conditions or charge them higher rates.
