Presence Health Moves Headquarters to Downtown Chicago

Presence Health — the system formed last year by a merger between Mokena, Ill.-based Provena Health and Chicago-based Resurrection Health Care — is establishing its headquarters in downtown Chicago, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

The 12-hospital system's move involves relocating about 100 employees from Mokena and 100 from Chicago's northwest side. Presence is expected to ask for tax increment financing assistance for the move.

A statement from the office of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said if Presence does apply for a TIF, "it will be run through the full process that these applications go through, which includes a full economic development assessment and many other evaluations," according to the report.

A Presence spokesperson said the system plans to file the TIF application this week seeking up to $8 million in assistance on a planned $40 million investment in the city, according to the report.

The address of Presence's new headquarters will be 200 S. Wacker Drive. The move is expected to be completed in fall 2013.
