Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners, parent company of ECM Hospital, is seeking to replace and relocate 320 of ECM Hospital’s 358 licensed beds in a new facility that will be called North Alabama Medical Center. The proposed hospital is designed improve access to services such as admitting, emergency care, radiology, lab and surgery.
Officials expect the proposed hospital to be more 500,000 square feet with an additional 100,000 square feet for an attached medical office building. The facility is estimated to have an economic impact of more than $1 billion over five years, the estimated time needed for state approval and construction.
The letter of intent estimated the project would cost $227 million for construction and $43 million for equipment.
