The 156-bed hospital is being constructed so Monroeville patients can receive direct care right in town. The facility features all private rooms, outpatient and inpatient services and an emergency department. Although UPMC East will not have a trauma center, the hospital’s helipad will allow quick transfer of patients to Pittsburgh trauma centers, according to the report.
