Physician Executives Taking Business Courses

Since physicians receive no formal training in business during medical school, when they are promoted into management positions that need to fill in the gap and taking business courses, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

Business schools are increasingly offering business management programs geared toward the medical community, such as Harvard Business School’s Managing Health Care Delivery.

Similarly, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business holds a non-degree Leadership Forum for employees of the university’s health system.
