Pennsylvania Lawmakers Urge UPMC, Highmark to Make Peace

A bipartisan group of 12 Pennsylvania senators and representatives sent a letter to UPMC and Highmark leaders requesting meetings to resolve the contract dispute, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.

The lawmakers plan to hold hearings by the House Insurance Committee and Senate Banking and Insurance Committee to find legal remedies to the dispute.

Highmark and UPMC said they would meet with lawmakers.
