The health system is looking at international markets for contracts to train physicians and nurses, manage hospitals and develop medical programs, according to the report.
This is not the first time Partners has looked at overseas projects. In the past, the system has trained nurses in New Delhi and designed obstetrical programs in Doha, Qatar, among other projects.
However, with the limits put on the system’s growth in Massachusetts, it is looking for more significant projects.
“Our institutions want to be recognized as the best in global healthcare,” Gilbert H. Mudge, MD, CEO of Partners HealthCare International, told The Boston Globe.
