OhioHealth’s Innovative Program Seeks to Develop Employee, Physician Ideas for New Products

Columbus, Ohio-based OhioHealth’s Research and Innovation Institute was recently featured in The Columbus Dispatch for its efforts to develop and commercialize employees’ and physicians’ ideas for new medical products.

More than 130 new product ideas have been vetted through the Institute in the last few years, resulting in 7 products currently in clinical use. Some of the inventions include a 3-D joint scanner developed by orthopedic surgeon Ray Wasielewski, MD, and a sanitary toilet seat lifter, developed by a shuttle driver.
