The freestanding center is part of larger redevelopment plans for St. Vincent’s, which entered bankruptcy and closed in April 2010. Under the larger deal, real estate developer Rudin Group will build apartments and townhouses on the east part of the hospital campus, while North Shore-LIJ will spend $110 million to convert the O’Toole building on the campus into the Lenox Hill Hospital Comprehensive Care Center.
The plan now awaits approval from the state health commissioner, who has signaled support for the plan, according to the report.
