University of Michigan Health Nurses Extend Contract Negotiations

Nurses at Ann Arbor, Mich.-based University of Michigan Health System will extend contract negotiations into tomorrow as they work to replace a contract that is set to expire today, according to an AnnArbor.com report.

The Michigan Nurses Association is working out contract terms including health benefits, retirement, overtime and paid time off, according to the report.

The 4,000 nurses at U of M Health will continue to work under their expired contract, which they have been working to renew since April. If an agreement is not reached, a strike could eventually occur.
