Novant’s Presbyterian Medical Center earns comprehensive stroke center designation

The Joint Commission, American Heart Association and American Stroke Association designated Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center as a comprehensive stroke center.

Presbyterian Medical Center is the first hospital in Charlotte to earn the highest designation for stroke care, according to a news release.

The comprehensive stroke center designation is awarded to hospitals who meet basic stroke-related standards as a Primary Stroke Center, along with additional stricter requirements, including advanced imaging capabilities and 24/7 availability of specialized treatments.
