The layoffs are comprised of full- and part-time positions, but hospital officials would not specify which departments will be affected. The cuts make up 3 percent of Northwest’s workforce.
Northwest’s new outpatient facilities are slated to open in Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg and Mount Prospect. Each will be developed in 2013. The system has not disclosed how the outpatient facilities will be staffed, according to the report.
