Glassdoor compiles the list using voluntary employee feedback from companies across the country and ranks the 100 best CEOs. Mr. Dowling was ranked No. 44, making him the top-ranked health system CEO. He also received a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award.
Mr. Dowling has worked at Northwell Health since 1995, when he joined as executive vice president and COO. He became president and CEO of the organization in 2002, and he now oversees 23 hospitals, more than 750 outpatient facilities, medical and nursing schools and the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research.
