The book, Health Care Reboot: Megatrends Energizing American Medicine, offers a different perspective, arguing that the “decline narrative” is outdated.
Instead, co-authors Mr. Dowling and Northwell Senior Vice President Charles Kenny focus on nine trends that are positioning the nation’s healthcare system toward greater quality, safety, access and affordability.
“While we still have a long way to go to make healthcare more efficient and effective, we’ve made enormous strides in finding new cures and treatments for cancer, heart disease, stroke and other potentially deadly conditions, while also expanding access to care, restoring patients’ trust in the system and delivering value,” said Mr. Dowling, according to Forbes.
