Northwell board elects seasoned tech attorney, longtime trustee as chair

Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, N.Y., appointed Michael Epstein the chair of its board of trustees May 29.

Four things to know:

1. Mr. Epstein replaces Mark Claster, who chaired the 31-member board for five years.

2. Mr. Epstein is a senior partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, a law firm in Manhattan. At the law firm, he chairs the technology and intellectual property transactions practice group.

3. He has served as a Northwell trustee for 14 years and was an associate trustee prior to that, a role he took on in 2002.

4. Mr. Epstein has also been a board member of Northwell’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research since 2002.
