Four things to know:
1. Mr. Epstein replaces Mark Claster, who chaired the 31-member board for five years.
2. Mr. Epstein is a senior partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, a law firm in Manhattan. At the law firm, he chairs the technology and intellectual property transactions practice group.
3. He has served as a Northwell trustee for 14 years and was an associate trustee prior to that, a role he took on in 2002.
4. Mr. Epstein has also been a board member of Northwell’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research since 2002.
