The health system has also eliminated 33 vacant posts. Just last month, New York’s Public Health and Health Planning Council approved the certificate of need application to consolidate Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital, both in Elmira, N.Y. The two hospitals have since worked with Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath, N.Y., to create a non-profit regional healthcare system, Arnot Health.
The layoffs affect staff-level, middle management and upper administrative employees at all three hospitals, all of whom will receive severance packages and assistance in finding new jobs.
