New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital to Join North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System

Lenox Hill Hospital in New York will join the North Shore-LIJ Health System, according to a press release from North Shore-LIJ.

The announcement ends months of speculation about what organization would partner with 153-year-old Lenox Hill after the hospital began to seek a partnership following $20 million in operating losses in 2009.

The acquisition of the 652-bed hospital gives North Shore-LIJ its first hospital in Manhattan and 15th overall in the New York metropolitan area.
