New York newsroom seeks employee stories about troubled Upstate Medical University

After a series of incidents involving the executive team at Syracuse, N.Y.-based SUNY Upstate Medical University, reporters at Syracuse.com are looking to speak with Upstate employees familiar with the situation.

Sergio Garcia, former Upstate chief of staff, resigned May 21 after it was revealed that he had lied about his past, and former hospital CEO John McCabe, MD, says the academic medical center paid him $660,500 to “disappear.”
