The bills would provide counseling, case management and social services to gunshot victims while they are still in the hospital in order to help stop the cycle of gun violence.
“Many hospitals see a ‘revolving door’ of gunshot injuries, as patients who have been shot are at a very high risk of being violently reinjured and committing violent acts themselves,” said state Assemblyman Lou Greenwald.
