Methodist filed a letter of intent for the hospital last year following the Department of Health’s decision last July to allow counties with more than 140,000 residents to have two hospitals, according to the report.
The decision is still subject to appeal, but if no groups appeal the decision, construction will begin next year. The hospital is expected to take two years to complete, according to the report.
