Here are three things to know about the change.
1. Hospital officials attributed the change to a steady decline in the number of emergency patients seen at the Vicksburg location.
2. Beginning Dec. 31, walk-in patients will be directed to the emergency center in Kalamazoo. Ambulance traffic in Kalamazoo County was already being directed to the Kalamazoo location, according to the report.
3. Twenty-nine employees will be affected by the ED closing. However, hospital officials said they are working to help affected employees apply for other jobs in the Bronson Healthcare system, according to WWMT.
