Emory University Hospital in Atlanta to Double Size of ED

Emory University Hospital in Atlanta has announced plans to nearly double the size of its emergency department.

Renovation of the ED will begin in August and will add 11 exam rooms, expand the waiting room and add imaging equipment.

The current ED is 9,600 square feet and sees approximately 36,000 patients annually. The hospital expects volume to rise to 44,000 in three years.
