‘Medicare for All’ caucus leader pushes for House vote on bill

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., called on the House to  publicly debate and vote on the proposed “Medicare for All” bill, according to The Hill.

Ms. Jayapal, who co-chairs  the Medicare for All caucus, said it’s time for Democrats to go from being co-sponsors of the universal healthcare proposal to supporting it through votes.

“We are going to be pushing for it to get a hearing … to have this debate on the floor,” Ms. Jayapal said during  an organizing call Nov. 13 with the National Nurses United union.

Ms. Jayapal said her caucus is working  on a revised version of the bill that they hope to introduce next session.
