The hospital operator attributed the increase for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, to a 1 percent growth in same-facility adjusted admissions and a 1.1 percent growth in surgeries. Net patient revenues per adjusted patient day increased by 2 percent due to favorable increase on commercial volumes. Case acuity remained unchanged compared to the previous quarter, according to a Tenet news release.
The company’s net income attributable to the company’s shareholders soared to $55 million, more than double net income of $25 million in the same period a year prior.
