CPMC currently includes four hospitals. The 10-year plan would close CPMC’s campus in the Presido Heights area of San Francisco as well as replace St. Luke’s Hospital in the city’s Mission District with a smaller hospital. The system would also convert its facility in Pacific Heights to an outpatient facility.
The controversial plan is expected to undergo a lengthy review process. Critics of the plan worry about the size of the project and how it would effect healthcare access in the city.
