The expansion will allow the center to accommodate more patients and have more room for outpatient services, which includes a sleep center, wound and hyperbaric medicine center and an infusion center. A labor and delivery unit is expected to open this year as well.
The expansion was funded through the hospital’s operating budget, bond financing and $12 million in private donations, according to the Baltimore Sun report, and is expected to add 125 jobs, which will result in $6.2 million in salaries.
