Levine Cancer Institute earns top designation for patient-centered care

The Levine Cancer Institute of Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System became the first outpatient cancer network to receive Planetree recognition for achievement in patient-centered care.

Planetree Designated Patient-Centered Organization recognition is granted to healthcare organizations promoting patient-centric treatment based on healthcare industry standards. Levine Cancer Institute is the first multisite center and first outpatient network to earn the recognition, according to a Carolinas HealthCare release.

“The designation signals to patients, providers and everyone with an investment in cancer care that Levine Cancer Institute is an organization where providers partner with patients and families, and where patient comfort, dignity, empowerment and well-being are prioritized with providing top-quality clinical care,” Susan Frampton, PhD, president of Planetree, said in a statement.   

Thirty-one U.S. healthcare providers and 81 worldwide providers have earned Planetree Designation.
