The health system did not offer a specific timeline for the cuts, nor detail how many workers will be affected or what positions will be eliminated, according to the report.
However, ValleyCare Health System did provide a statement to WYTV, confirming its “difficult decision” to furlough and reduce hours for some employees.
“Our hospitals regularly review and adjust staffing based on the number of patients in our care and their medical needs. We remain focused on carefully managing operations to support our commitment to provide high-quality healthcare services to our community,” the health system said.
ValleyCare Health System includes Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, and Trumbull Memorial and Hillside Rehabilitation hospitals in Warren, Ohio.
