Seventy-five percent of Americans said it is “extremely” or “very” important to secure funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program before it expires at the end of September, according to Kaiser Health’s tracking poll.

The Kaiser Family Foundation designed and analyzed the poll, which comprises responses from 1,179 adults fielded between Sept. 13 and Sept. 18.

In addition to concerns about CHIP funding, 69 percent of respondents said it is “extremely” or “very” important to pass legislation aimed at stabilizing the ACA’s individual marketplaces.

In comparison, 47 percent of Americans said it is important Congress continues efforts to repeal and replace the ACA. That sentiment varies across party lines, with 71 percent of Republicans ranking repeal and replace initiatives as important, and 28 percent of Democrats and 47 percent of independents stating the same.
