The union members — whose jobs range from nursing assistants to maintenance workers — are affiliated with the systems of Fairview Health Services, Children’s of Minnesota, HealthEast Care System, North Memorial and Park Nicollet.
SEIU has been negotiating new contracts with the hospitals since their previous ones expired this past February, and are still not seeing eye to eye. Union leaders say the hospitals’ proposals don’t ensure fair compensation for SEIU members.
Hospital spokespeople weren’t available for comment at the time of the news report’s publication.
