Jefferson Health's Dr. Stephen Klasko is editor-in-chief of Healthcare Transformation journal

Healthcare Transformation, a new peer-reviewed open access journalzine published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., released its inaugural issue Tuesday at the 13th Annual Jefferson University Gala in Philadelphia. Stephen Klasko, MD, president and CEO of Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, serves as editor-in-chief.

Through contributions from preeminent thought leaders across the industry, Healthcare Transformation seeks to re-imagine healthcare delivery, education and technology in the 21st century and beyond.

"Signs of a profound change in healthcare are all around us, and changes in healthcare delivery platforms have created radical shifts in many industries, with healthcare and education lagging behind," said Dr. Klasko. "In the near future, the delivery of healthcare may become as decentralized as retail shopping as we move from a Blockbuster-to-Netflix paradigm shift in the way we organize and maintain healthcare records, educate our clinicians, manage patient care and monitor our own personal health. Healthcare Transformation will be the foremost publication that challenges and highlights the disruptive changes that are developing in the world of healthcare."

The premier issue is available for download on the Healthcare Transformation website.
