The hospital set a Sept. 11 court date in late August, during which it had planned to request a Christmas Day closure.

Instead, the Department of Health delayed the hearing and pledged $3.3 million to Interfaith for operational costs during the delay.

Interfaith declared bankruptcy in December 2012 and had been losing about $1.5 million per month in bankruptcy fees as of September.
