Insurance ‘for-profit death panels’ ripped by New York’s new Democrat rep

In response to tweets from a conservative think tank leader, Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said that commercial insurers embody the “death panels” that ACA opponents warned about years ago, according to The Hill.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez supports “Medicare for All” proposals, and traded jabs with Jim Hanson, president of the Security Studies Group, over the merits of a universal healthcare system.

“Things will be much simpler when our Democrat Socialist overlords simply tell us who will live and who will die #DeathPanels rock,” Mr. Hanson tweeted.

“Actually, we have for-profit ‘death panels’ now: they are companies + boards saying you’re on your own bc they won’t cover a critical procedure or medicine,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez responded in a tweet. “Maybe if the GOP stopped hiding behind this ‘socialist’ rock they love to throw, they’d actually engage on-issue for once.”
