Community Westview Hospital, Indiana’s only osteopathic hospital, stopped functioning as an inpatient facility last year but continued to operate its emergency room and offer some surgical services. Community Health Network officials recently decided to vacate the hospital campus completely and devote resources instead to outpatient care in the area.
The 187 layoffs are expected to occur between Dec. 13 and Dec. 31. Community Health Network officials said some Community Westview Hospital employees may find opportunities at other CHN facilities.
