The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board has opposed the move due to concerns about job losses and impact on the community, according to the report.
The health system hopes, however, the board will reverse its decision after it provides additional information to the board on May 10.
The public health system’s budget includes the discontinuation of inpatient services at Oak Forest by June 1, according to the report.
