State of Illinois Approves Carle Hospital’s Acquisition of Clinic

Illinois’ Health Facilities Services and Review Board has approved a plan by Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill., to acquire Carle Clinic, according to a report by WCIA 3 News.

Non-profit Carle Foundation Hospital will acquire the currently for-profit clinic for $250 million. After the acquisition is finalized, Carle Clinic will become a non-profit entity.

The deal was first announced in December and is expected to improve healthcare access in the community, according to the report.
