Ms. Parker will be based in IHA’s new Washington, D.C., office. She has served as chief of staff for Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) and Rep. Laura Peterson (D-Calif.), and served as chief policy advisor for both on public health and Medicare and Medicaid. Prior to working for Congress, she served as deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services.

“Her depth of experience and knowledge about Congress and key health care issues are especially critical,” IHA President Maryjane Wurth, said in the release. “Hospitals are on the front lines to transform healthcare and ensure that we have a sustainable, quality system going forward as health reform is implemented.”
