Cullman (Ala.) Regional Medical Center — Alabama’s largest independent rural hospital — is launching an outreach program to help other community hospitals improve financial and operational performance.
The outreach program is designed to help rural hospitals add local care services, create jobs and improve quality, Cullman Regional said in a Sept. 2 news release. The consulting portfolio includes revenue cycle management, financial benchmarking and quality improvement. Through the management-services option, Cullman Regional would place its own CEOs or CFOs at client hospitals.
A decade ago, Cullman Regional undertook a strategic overhaul of its clinical and business operations, a shift that expanded its local access to specialty care and grew its employee base and annual economic impact, according to the release.
“Throughout many Alabama communities, the commitment to sustain local healthcare is strong,” Cullman Regional CEO James Clements said in the release. “We want to partner with local healthcare leaders to leverage the expertise and lessons learned at Cullman Regional and turn things around for long term success.”
