Illinois County Board Approves Centegra’s Plans for New Hospital, Will Soon Vote on Mercy Health Proposal

The McHenry County (Ill.) Board has voted to pass a resolution “commending” Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Centegra Health System for its plan to build a 128-bed hospital in Huntley, Ill., according to a Northwest Herald report.

The board will soon vote on a similar resolution for Mercy Health System, which is based in Janesville, Wis. Mercy has filed a certificate of need to build a 128-bed facility in Crystal Lake.

The resolutions will be included in both hospitals’ certificate of need applications being considered by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, according to the report. Both health systems filed CON applications in late December.
