The charge states Sparrow restrained, coerced and interfered with employees in their exercise of rights to join, form or assist a labor organization. The charge also states Sparrow has failed and refused to bargain in good faith with MNA, which represents approximately 2,100 nurses, pharmacists and other hospital employees under the Sparrow Health System.
Last week, MNA members rejected a contract offer from Sparrow and authorized union leaders to call a strike. A walkout is not imminent, however, since MNA must give a 10-day notice before striking.
