Doctors’ Hospital of Michigan Warns Employees About Layoffs

Doctors’ Hospital of Michigan in Pontiac has alerted its 708 employees of possible layoffs or restructuring, according to a Freep report.

The hospital closed briefly in 2008 but insists now that it will not close. According to the report, the hospital board continues to discuss restructuring or consolidating services with nearby institutions, as well as the possibility of capital from outside investors.

Doctors’ Hospital of Michigan has posted a profit for seven of the last eight months.
